Calgary SKC students came back from winter break rested and ready to set come goals. Students considered both academic and social goals. This led to good discussions about “what am I doing well, and what needs some work?” Students came to the realization that a positive mindset increases their likelihood of success. To emphasize this, students had fun ‘lightening up’ by making their own glow jars. Later in the month SKC students in grades 2 and 6 learned more about dental hygiene by visiting the Alex Dental Bus that came to our school. Students continued practicing self-calming skills such as completing puzzles, games, art, and being active. We ended January with a quarterly birthday celebration and a pizza party!
