SKC students in Calgary are heading into spring break after a whirlwind of activities in March. The kids were thrilled to spend time with artist Ryan Jason Allen Willert. SKC students participated in a Sweet Grass Smudge, and then each painted their own buffalo on a school mural. We also spent a lot of time working on communication skills. In an effort to improve listening skills, students guided each other through a blind drawing and compared results. SKC students were surprised how much effort was required to complete the task with accuracy. Another enjoyable listening lesson included a performance by master pianist Lihn Nguyen. Lihn played several short pieces for the students, asking students to identify emotions through music. Lastly, students prepared for Easter break by decorating colorful eggs using their very impressive artistic talents.
