Calgary SKC students were put to work in the Clubhouse. After reviewing student goals in January, it was evident students needed to focus on positive thinking. Did you know that by adjusting negative thoughts you can also adjust negative behaviours? We tried it out, and our experiment was a success. Students spent time journaling, and trying strategies such as progressive muscle relaxation and yoga. In return students reported feeling happier and more able to focus on their learning. Other highlights included swimming lessons for grade 2, and skiing lessons for SKC students in grades 5 and 6. The most popular guests in SKC this term were Whitby and Buckley our furry friends from Pet Access League of Calgary. The students were able to release their anxiety and experience healing through these amazing therapy dogs.
