March was a really busy month in the Regina Shania Kids Can Clubhouse. This month we had a big focus on SCIENCE with EYES (Educating Youth on Engineering and Science) coming not once, but twice to the Clubhouse! We designed zipline devices and got to experience virtual reality goggles- it was so cool!! Students that are new to SKC for the 2017-2018 school year participated in cooking lessons during March provided by Regina Food for Learning. We had an introspective art project called, ‘How I See Me’, where we painted self portraits on mirrors! Throughout the month of March, we did another book study of ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ and are going to see the movie. Everyone is hoping that the movie is just as good as the book! One of the biggest highlights of March was that 3 lucky students had the opportunity to travel to Saskatoon to attend ‘An Evening with Michelle Obama’. The girls were treated to a private yoga class by Molly at beautiful studio called, The Movement YXE (owned by female entrepreneur, Chrissy Kuny!), had dinner at the Cactus Club and listened to the inspirational and eloquent Michelle Obama! It was an absolutely amazing day further instilling the notion in Shania Kids that they CAN accomplish anything they put their mind to!
