SKC Clubhouse - Dwight, ON
The SKC Clubhouse at Irwin Memorial Public School has been very busy in November! We invited in a Yoga instructor to do some meditation and introduce some Yoga poses to our students, many have never had this experience before and thoroughly enjoyed it! They all took turns sharing what they’re grateful for during their “Circle of Gratitude” and they wrote down something positive to say to another student, this was meant for someone they don’t usually talk to. What a great experience!
To kick start off our “Week of Kindness” we created a special “Compliment Box” in which we invited the school to participate by adding a special compliment to someone new or for a special friend. It was a huge hit and we had fun reading out the compliments to make our friends smile!
Everyday I have a special helper who assists in preparing a healthy snack that we share in the SKC Clubhouse. Many kids enjoy this special opportunity and everyone enjoys the healthy and nutritious food available through our program. We’re always in stock! The SKC students enjoy trying new recipes and trying new things that they don’t usually get at home. They love helping out and sharing their responsibilities!
